MPMS
(Medical Practice Management Skills)
As large clinics form, the need for identifying deficiencies and discrepancies in risk
management is becoming important. MPMS is a unique program that assists in identifying
areas for a CQI process to address. This program was developed by Daniel Tennenhouse,
M.D., J.D., in collaboration with NPM. Because of this involvement, our members can
utilize this program at a significant reduction in price.
SEMINARS
Physicians: We schedule seminars to enable physicians to obtain their LPW (Loss
Prevention Workshop) credit at convenient times and locations. These seminars
address risk management issues pertinent to the physician. Upon request, we will
specifically tailor LPW or educational programs for groups of 20 or more physicians.
Medical Office Personnel: Medical office personnel have a significant
influence on physician risk management. NPM offers a three hour risk management
seminar specifically tailored to medical office personnel. These seminars are
scheduled in conjunction with physician's LPW seminars. We also provide programming
on-site for groups of 20 or more office personnel upon request.
Home Study Courses: Some physicians find
it more convenient to complete a home study course for their LPW requirement. NPM offers
the following home study courses through Tennenhouse Professional Publications: Risk
Prevention Skills, Specialty Specific and Delayed Diagnosis of Cancer. Risk Prevention
Skills for medical office personnel is also available. Many offices use this as an
orientation tool for new employees. Risk Prevention Skills for Physicians is
available as an on-line self-study course over the internet. Conact us for more
information on any of these programs.
LITIGATION EDUCATION (For Physicians and Their
Spouses)
Malpractice litigation is a stressful, life-changing event. NPM is a leader in the
field of "Litigation Stress Syndrome" education. Our one day seminar on
this subject has received national and international attention. The program
addresses the stress of litigation and teaches the skills necessary for a successful
deposition and appearance at trial. Attendees and their partners have consistently
given high praise for this workshop.
PHYSICIAN WELL-BEING (Lectures & Consultation)
Physician groups are beginning to realize that physicians well-being is important. This is
significant not only from an emotional standpoint, but also for business issues of the
group. Upon request, we provide speakers to Medical Societies and Auxiliaries,
as well as hospital and clinic staff to address Litigation Stress Syndrome, Physician
Burnout, The Physician Marriage and other associated topics.
